An image depicting what’s said to be the rear panel of the Meizu PRO 7 leaked online on Friday, indicating that the upcoming flagship made by the Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) will sport a dual camera setup on its back. The panel itself seemingly features a glossy black finish which will presumably be one of the available color variants of the Meizu PRO 7 that has yet to be officially announced by the Zhuhai, China-based company. The panel itself also boasts rounded corners and is seemingly slightly curved, indicating that the upcoming device will be somewhat similar to its 2016 predecessor in terms of design.
Recent reports indicated that the Meizu PRO 7 will sport a secondary screen similar to the LG V20, with industry insiders also claiming that its dual camera setup will consist of two 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensors, a popular choice among many Chinese phone makers. The device is also said to boast a 5.2-inch or a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display panel that will presumably be protected by 2.5D glass and is rumored to support some kind of 3D Touch technology. While initial reports about the Meizu PRO 7 indicated that the smartphone may ship with as much as 8GB of RAM, more recent and numerous rumors suggest that the device will boast 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The smartphone is also said to boast 64GB of internal flash memory, though that storage space likely won’t be expandable seeing how neither the Meizu PRO 6 nor the Meizu PRO 6 Plus featured a microSD card slot. On the other hand, the device will likely also be offered in a 128GB variant, just like its predecessors were. Finally, the handset is expected to ship with a physical Home button that will house a fingerprint scanner.
Meizu’s 2017 flagship should be officially announced in the coming weeks, though the company has yet to hint at a more specific release window. It’s currently unclear whether the Meizu PRO 7 will be accompanied by the Meizu PRO 7 Plus, though that may not be the case seeing how last year’s models were launched half a year apart.
