Download Android O Developer Preview 2 Factory Images

The second developer preview of Android O become available to download today. In addition, Google also announced during I/O 2017 that it was officially opening up the Android O Beta Program to the public. Which not only makes it much easier to install the latest version of Android, but also makes it easier to keep on top of future preview updates and install them, as and when they become available.

However, if you are more of the type of person who prefers to download full factory images of the latest update and apply them to your device(s) manually, then it seems that you can now do that as well. As Google has also now made available the factory images for the Android O Developer Preview 2. As per usual, these factory images are available for a range of Nexus and Pixel devices, with the images now available for the Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6P, the Nexus Player, the Pixel C, the Google Pixel, and the Google Pixel XL.

In terms of the latest developer preview, Google has already detailed much of what is included in this update earlier today. While this is not an actual finished product (as there is still a number of previews to come through before the final Android O version is released), the second Developer Preview does bring with it a decent number of improvements. Including more “fluid experiences” for picture-in-picture, notification dots, and smart text selection. As well as system optimizations, background limits, and more. In particular, it is worth noting that if you are planning on applying this latest factory image update to the Nexus Player, then the Android TV Nexus device will see a fairly significant UI change. One which is designed to make content easier and quicker to find. Visually speaking, it does certainly seem as though the Nexus Player is getting the biggest change with this update. Either way, and regardless of which Nexus or Pixel device you are applying a factory image update to, all the necessary download links, as well as detailed instruction on how to install factory images, are available through the link below.
