Three new renders of what’s said to be the OnePlus 5 leaked online on Saturday, depicting a device wrapped in a snap-on dark blue case with a purple hue. The phone shown in the renders seemingly sports a glossy black finish, hinting at one possible color variant of the upcoming OnePlus-made flagship. The back side of the device sports a vertical dual camera setup with a standard LED flash unit placed immediately underneath it and shows no sign of a fingerprint scanner, suggesting that the OnePlus 5 will sport a fingerprint reader embedded into its physical Home button, much like its predecessors did. The renders also depict a volume rocker and a Power button on the right side of the handset, above what may look like a relatively large speaker stretching across the edge of the case, though it’s most likely just a case pattern designed for a better grip of the device.
The top bezel of the supposed OnePlus 5 shown in the gallery below houses a single-lens front camera setup, while the phone itself sports a screen with a conventional 16:9 aspect ratio. Virtually all of the info suggested by the latest set of leaks corroborates previous rumors about the upcoming flagship that has already been the subject of numerous teasers issued by the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer in recent weeks. According to official promos, the OnePlus 5 will initially be offered in five color variants and be powered by the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm’s first 10nm system-on-chip (SoC) housing eight Kyro 280 cores clocked at a maximum frequency of 2.45GHz and the Adreno 540 GPU. While the piece of silicon powering the upcoming smartphone supports 4K UHD resolution, it remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 5 will even provide a screen upgrade over its predecessor that featured a regular Full HD (1920 x 1080) display panel.
The OnePlus 5 is said to ship with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash memory, though the Chinese phone maker is also expected to offer a 128GB variant of the handset, though neither is likely to feature a microSD card slot. More details on the device are bound to be available shortly as OnePlus previously confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will be officially unveiled in June.
