Microsoft started rolling out a major update for its Arrow Launcher earlier this week, ennobling the app with support for Android for Work products and a number of other features. The build number 3.4.0.33406 should already be available for download from the Google Play Store in all parts of the world and anyone who uses Microsoft’s Android user interface is encouraged to download it given the sheer amount of new options that ship with this particular software package.
Following the new update, Arrow Launcher boasts a Notes functionality that allows users to quickly take notes within the launcher itself, without locating dedicated apps that accomplish the same purpose. The feature can be accessed through an interactive card that also ships with image support, meaning users can attach locally stored images to their notes or even snap new ones while typing their entries. The functionality itself is somewhat reminiscent of Google Keep and it seemingly works in a reliable manner, though users who prefer using dedicated note-taking apps can now also access them faster than before thanks to Arrow Launcher’s newly introduced functionality for creating app shortcuts. In addition to the aforementioned Android for Work support, Microsoft’s launcher was also updated with a Password Protection feature that can be used for locking hidden apps behind a password, the app’s changelog reveals. Finally, the latest update for Arrow Launcher also ships with a number of performance improvements and bug fixes, the Redmond, Washington-based tech giant said, without specifically listing these enhancements.
While packed with a wide variety of new content and performance tweaks, the latest build of Arrow Launcher still boasts the same hardware and software requirements that previous versions of the app did, meaning that Microsoft’s mobile user interface continues to be compatible with most smartphones and tablets running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and later iterations of Google’s ubiquitous operating system.
