New Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Concept Video Appears On YouTube

A new concept video showing how the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may look like appeared on YouTube on Sunday. The video isn’t official in any capacity but is simply meant to serve as a visualization of all of the recent reports, rumors, and leaks pertaining to Samsung’s upcoming high-end phablet that will be released later this year. The phone depicted in the video sports a design that’s similar to the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus as it boasts a tall body with a curved AMOLED display panel featuring an unconventional aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Its top and bottom bezels are almost non-existent, with the former not even having enough space to house a visible selfie camera, which likely won’t be the case with the final product. The Galaxy Note 8 concept is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner embedded below the display of the device, something that Samsung reportedly wanted to do with the Galaxy S8 series but scrapped the idea because it ran out of development time.

The handset concept also sports a dual camera setup on its rear panel with two vertically arranged lenses placed above a standard LED flash and a heart rate monitor. The S Pen of the Galaxy Note 8 shown in the concept video is mostly similar to the stylus that shipped with the Galaxy Note 7, while the device itself features a volume rocker instead of two separate volume buttons, something that isn’t in line with the latest leaks pertaining to Samsung’s upcoming phablet. The three-minute video of the latest Galaxy Note 8 concept can be seen in its entirety beneath this writing.

Samsung’s next Android flagship is expected to be powered by the company’s in-house Exynos 8895 system-on-chip (SoC) and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, depending on the region, in addition to sporting 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Note 8 is also said to ship with a 6.3-inch QHD+ display panel, with other main differences between that device and the Galaxy S8 lineup being a dual camera setup and an S Pen. Other than that, the phone is widely expected to be similar to Samsung’s new pair of flagships that was released last month. More details on the Galaxy Note 8 will likely be available soon.
