The Nubia M2 Lite’s availability and pricing details for India have just been officially announced. The smartphone will be available from tomorrow, May 9, as an exclusive of Amazon India. Sales will begin at 12 PM local time and the Nubia M2 Lite will be priced at Rs. 13,999, which translates to approximately $217. The smartphone is a more affordable version of the regular Nubia M2 that was first launched in China along with the Nubia N2 in March.
Nubia is aiming the M2 Lite at a young audience in India, and specifications of the handset include the MediaTek 64-bit octa-core processor and a 5.5-inch display panel with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. The version that has been announced for the Indian market has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot by up to 128GB, whereas when the phone launched in China it was offered in 3GB and 4GB RAM models with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively. The handset is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with an array of power optimization features aimed at extending its life as much as possible. Turning to the design, the M2 Lite has a metal unibody build and features 2.5D glass. It comes in black and gold color options and is relatively slim, being only 7.5mm thick. The hybrid dual-SIM phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow skinned with Nubia UI 4.0 and also includes a fingerprint sensor.
The camera capabilities of the device powered by the NeoVision 6.0 technology that has been specially customized for the Nubia M2 lineup are one of its standout features. the phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a front-facing camera that’s equipped with a 16-megapixel ISOCELL sensor and another soft LED flash. The device also ships with a native photo editing solution thanks to Clone Camera 2.0. Nubia points to the 2μm virtual pixel size and f/2.0 wide-aperture lens of the device as the main enablers of excellent image quality. In other recent Nubia news, a render and leaked specs have appeared for the Nubia Z17 but there’s still no word on the launch of that particular model in India.
