A new leak has just surfaced, and it’s allegedly showing off OnePlus 5’s scores on Geekbench. Now, GSM Arena claims that the provided screenshot (first image in the gallery) comes from a credible source, though they do not mention who shared it with them. In any case, this screenshot shares some impressive numbers with us, and if the leak is legit, that means that the OnePlus 5 actually managed to outscore both the Galaxy S8 and the Xperia XZ Premium, and we’re talking about three devices which are fueled by the Snapdragon 835 SoC.
In any case, according to the provided info, the OnePlus 5 managed to score 1,963 points in the single-core benchmark, while the phone hit 6,687 points in the multi-core test. This listing also says that the device comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and we’re looking at the OnePlus A5000 model number here, of course, while this is its build number – “OnePlus A5000_20_170509”. Now, we’ve mentioned that the OnePlus 5 managed to outscore the Galaxy S8 and the Xperia XZ Premium, those two phones score 1,929 and 1,943 points in the single-core test, while they were able to hit 6,084 and 5,824 points in the multi-core test. So, as you can see, the difference is not that great, which was to be expected considering we’re looking at the same SoC here, but the OnePlus 5 managed to take the win here
Now, if you take a look at the second image down below, you’ll be able to see a list of top smartphones in both single-core and multi-core tests on Geekbench. As you can see, the iPhone 7 Plus still leads in the single-core test with 3,473 points, while the Galaxy S8 Plus and the OnePlus 5 trail behind with 1,978 and 1,963 points, respectively. Now, as far as the multi-core test goes, the OnePlus 5 is at the very top of the food chain, and it is being followed by the Galaxy S8 Plus and the Huawei Mate 9, two phablets which managed to score 6,375 and 6,112 points, respectively. That being said, the OnePlus 5 is expected to sport a 5.5-inch fullHD or QHD AMOLED display, 6GB or 8GB of RAM and on top of Android Nougat you’ll get the company’s custom UI, OxygenOS. In addition to that, the device will probably sport two 12-megapixel cameras on its back, though none of that info has been confirmed just yet. The device is expected to launch next month, and OnePlus already confirmed that it is coming this summer.
