Three new renders depicting what’s said to be the upcoming OnePlus 5 flagship have leaked online on Friday. The images show three slightly different variants of the handset that differ in terms of dual LED flash design and placement. One render shows a circular flash located beneath the camera bump of the device, while the other two depict a more elongated unit that’s located beneath the camera setup on the bulge in one image, with the other render showing it placed below the lump. Regardless, all three renders seemingly confirm previous rumors about the OnePlus 5 according to which the Chinese original equipment manufacturer is looking to ship a smartphone with a dual camera setup. The images also suggest that the setup will be a vertical one, while the bump itself is seemingly sticking out of the phone’s body by a significant margin. However, even if they’re legitimate, these are still just renders and the actual smartphone may be somewhat different to the device that can be seen in the gallery below.
The OnePlus 5 surfaced on Geekbuying earlier today alongside its frequently rumored spec sheet. According to latest reports, the upcoming flagship is said to ship with a 5.5-inch display panel with a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution and will be powered by the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm’s first 10nm system-on-chip (SoC) equipped with eight cores clocked at 2.35GHz and the Adreno 540 graphics chip. Other than that, the OnePlus 5 will reportedly be equipped with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space that will be expandable by at least 128GB via a microSD card slot. The front panel of the device is said to sport a 16-megapixel sensor while there have been conflicting reports regarding the main camera setup of the handset. Industry sources still can’t agree on whether the OnePlus 5 will sport a single-lens or a dual camera setup, though the latest leak suggests the latter. Reports on the device’s battery have been more consistent so far, with most insiders agreeing that the handset will be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery that won’t be removable.
Other rumored details regarding the OnePlus 5 include dual SIM support, Android 7.1 Nougat, and support for NFC and Dash Charge. The Chinese phone maker already confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will be released this summer, so more details about the device are bound to follow soon.
