The OPPO R11 has been one of the most talked-about smartphones lately, and the device just got certified in China, along with its sibling, the OPPO R11 Plus. The OPPO R9 and OPPO R9 Plus were introduced back in March last year, so the release of their successors, the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus is already behind schedule it seems. Well, this certification basically confirms that the two devices will be announced in the near future. That being said, as part of the certification process, TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) shared not only the design of these two phones, but also their specifications, so read on if you’re interested.
These two phones will look basically identical in terms of the design, both will be made out of metal, and will sport a dual camera setup on the back. A fingerprint scanner will be placed below the display on both of these devices, and a power / lock key is located on the right. The volume up and volume down buttons are clearly visible on the left, and all in all, this is a design similar to a number of others we’ve seen in the last couple of years, so no surprise there. Now, as far as specs are concerned, there are some differences, of course. The OPPO R11 will be a smaller device, it will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) AMOLED display, while its ‘Plus’ sibling will arrive with a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) panel. The OPPO R11 will pack in 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of expandable storage, while the OPPO R11 Plus will ship with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable native storage.
Both phones will be fueled by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, and it seems like we’re looking at the Snapdragon 660 here, though TENAA did not confirm that. The same dual camera setup will be placed on both of these devices, you will be able to find 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel cameras on the back, and a single 16-megapixel shooter on the front side of both the OPPO R11 and the OPPO R11 Plus. The OPPO R11 comes with a 2,900mAh non-removable battery, while a 3,880mAh non-removable battery pack will ship inside of the OPPO R11 Plus. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come out of the box, and on top of it, you’ll get the company’s custom UI. The OPPO R11 will become available in Black, Silver and Gold color variants, while it will measure 154.5 x 74.8 x 6.8mm, and weigh 150 grams. The OPPO R11 Plus, on the other hand, will be available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colors, while it measures 165.8 x 81.5 x 7.8mm, and weighs 188 grams.
