Sony Xperia XZ Premium Pre-Orders Go Live In Europe

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is now officially available for pre-orders in mainland Europe and the United Kingdom. Off-contract prices start at €749 ($828) and £649 ($836), respectively, and Sony is sweetening the deal in certain regions by bundling each pre-order with a free pair of headphones. Pre-order bonuses are valid until May 31 and the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is expected to start shipping to customers in early June.

Apart from the United Kingdom, Sony’s latest Android flagship is available for pre-purchase in a number of other European countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, and Spain. However, it should also be noted that European prices can vary from the aforementioned figure and prospective buyers in Finland will have to pay a slightly higher price of €799 ($883) in order to place an advanced order on the smartphone. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is only accompanied by pre-order bonuses in some countries like the UK and Germany. In the UK, the Japanese company is pairing its latest Android flagship with a free pair of Sony MDR-NC750 headphones (worth £60), while pre-order bonuses in Germany consist of a pair of Sony’s NC MDR-100ABN headphones worth £299 ($385), which is a significant pre-order incentive by most standards.

As for the smartphone itself, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is one of the very few handsets on the market to adopt a 4K (3840 x 2160) display panel. The IPS LCD panel measures 5.46-inches in diagonal and clocks in at a screen-to-body ratio of just over 68 percent. Additionally, although the Sony Xperia XZ Premium has been unveiled back at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in late February, it waited on the sidelines long enough to be able to adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC), the same piece of silicon powering the U.S. variants of the Samsung Galaxy S8 series. The handset also accommodates 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory expandable by up to an additional 256GB via a microSD card slot, and a 3,230mAh battery taking advantage of Qnovo Adaptive Charging. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is currently available for pre-orders in two out of three color options, namely Luminous Chrome and Deepsea Black, while the Bronze Pink variant of the handset has yet to be offered to consumers.
