T-Mobile is reportedly going to offer a buy one get one deal for the Galaxy S8 on May 12th, allowing subscribers to come in and purchase one Galaxy S8 and then get the second Galaxy S8 for free, though as all these deals go it will follow the same path as previous BOGO offers with the “free” aspect coming in the form of a prepaid MasterCard that has $750 on it. This means subscribers will still be paying the cost for both phone at retail, but will get the money back on one device later on.
The BOGO deal also includes the Samsung Galaxy S8+ but the MasterCard value doesn’t change and will still be $750, which means that subscribers who buy a Galaxy S8+ and want a second one will still be paying the remaining amount of the second Galaxy S8+ in the end after the prepaid MasterCard comes in. T-Mobile hasn’t officially announced a BOGO deal for the new Samsung flagship phones but a leaked image explaining the BOGO that was seemingly meant for internal use only talks about the terms of the deal and what the requirements are. That said the image is small and not very clear so it’s hard to make out all the context.
When it comes to those requirements, there are a few of them to make note of. At least one of the lines getting the phone will have to be a newly activated customer but the BOGO will be good for existing customers too, meaning the other could be an upgrade so long as they’re adding a new line to the account plan. Another requirement is that the newly activated line will have to be set up one of two different plans, which are the T-Mobile One plan or the Simple Choice Unlimited plan. Although it was probably already suspected, the phones will also need to be purchased using the EIP payment option which breaks the phone price up into multiple payments on the phone bill each month until the devices are paid off, and lastly customers who take advantage of this new offer will need to visit the T-Mobile Promotion Center website and enter the 17SAMBOGO promo code after their phone purchases to complete the process.
