It seems like one of the Galaxy C-branded smartphones could be Samsung’s first dual camera handset. A rather interesting rumor surfaced on Twitter yesterday, saying that the Galaxy Note 8 will not be the company’s first dual camera smartphone. Well, that very same source now shared an additional piece of info which suggests that one of the Galaxy C handsets will sport a dual camera setup, and be the first Samsung-branded device to ship with such a setup on its back.
Now, in addition to that rumor, the source also shared a sketch of the device. Now, we’re not sure if this is the device itself, or just a random sketch, to be quite honest, as the source did not elaborate on that, but the phone that is showed off sports two camera sensors on the back, and an LED flash is placed in-between them. That is pretty much all the info that the source shared, so all we can do at this point is wait for Samsung to reveal more info. Several Galaxy C-branded phones got introduced back in May last year, so we’re expecting next-gen phones to launch before the end of this month, which means we might see the company’s first dual camera smartphone in the near future.
That being said, many people expected the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagships to ship with a dual camera setup on the back, but that didn’t happen. Samsung actually opted to include the same, exact 12-megapixel snapper that they used in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Now, the Galaxy Note 8 will probably ship with a dual camera setup on the back, but if there’s any truth to the aforementioned rumor, the Galaxy C phone will make it to the market first, as the Galaxy Note 8 probably won’t get announced before August, maybe even September, it all depends. At the moment, we don’t know what sort of sensors is Samsung planning to use on the company’s upcoming devices, but chances are some additional info will surface in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that, as per usual.
