Hands on images of the upcoming Nokia flagship, otherwise known as the Nokia 9, have surfaced recently. However, not much of the design of the flagship smartphone can be seen due to the special casing it is kept in, meant to keep most of its design a secret. It should be noted that this is merely a prototype of the device, so the final product may be slightly different once it is launched. While most of the design can’t be seen, connectors and buttons required to operate the device are visible. This includes the USB Type-C port located at the bottom of the device, and also the 3.5mm headphone jack located at the top of the device. The volume rocker and power button is situated on the right-hand side of the device.
When it comes to specs, the Nokia 9 packs all the latest offerings and this includes a 5.3-inch QHD display and its maximum brightness has been measured at 530nits. An Always On display feature is also available. Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.46GHz alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is unknown at the moment whether the storage is expandable via a microSD card. Software wise, it runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and has the latest security patch installed. It comes with a similar launcher to that found on the Google Pixel. For optics, the Nokia 9 sports a dual-camera setup on its rear, reportedly two 13-megapixel shooters. Below the lenses, a dual LED flash can be seen and also a laser autofocus window. The camera offers a monochrome view, a color view and can also have pictures taken with both lenses.
However, pictures taken with the device look rather underwhelming, especially for a flagship smartphone, but once again, it is merely a prototype device and the image samples have been compressed. Picture samples can be viewed below in the attached gallery. Other features of the cameras include live video and a split mode, which uses the camera sensors on the rear and on the front to take a snap simultaneously. The Nokia 9 is rumored to cost $700/€750 when it is launched, and will come with a QuickCharge 3.0 charger along with a pair of earphones.
