According to the latest info, Xiaomi is actually planning to open up over 200 Mi Home stores this year. Interestingly enough, this information comes straight from Lei Jun, who decided to share this with the public via his official Weibo (Chinese social network) page. The company will open these stores in their home country, China. For those of you who do not know, Xiaomi had opened up about 80 Mi Home stores in China thus far, which means that the number of Mi Home stores will come to around 300 by the end of 2017, if Xiaomi manages to fulfill its promise, of course.
Consumers can purchase devices in the company’s Mi Home stores, of course, while they can also try them out and what not. Xiaomi was an online only company for quite some time, and they’re rather new in the offline sales business, but the company sees great opportunity in such business, and is looking forward to expanding in that direction. Xiaomi finally realized that they can’t keep on selling products online only and compete with other companies, which is a good thing, of course. At the moment, Xiaomi is not planning to open up Mi Home stores in other countries, only China, but it might happen in the future, especially in India, which is an incredibly important market for this China-based tech giant. Xiaomi has been expanding to India constantly, and their devices have been selling really well in that Asian country.
As many of you already know, Xiaomi introduced their Mi 6 flagship about two weeks ago, and the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus is expected to land in the coming weeks as well. We will get to see a number of additional smartphones released by Xiaomi this year, but Xiaomi is only a smartphone manufacturing company, as you probably already know. This China-based company manufactures all sorts of smart gadgets, ranging from electric rice cookers and electric bikes, all the way to tablets and fitness bands. You can experience various Xiaomi-branded devices in the company’s Mi Home stores in China, those stores are not only about smartphones. In any case, it will be interesting to see if the company will be able to fulfill their promise and open up 200 additional Mi Home stores by the end of this year.
