Announced as a convertible device meant for the education market segment, the Chromebook Flip C213 boasts a rugged MIL-STD-810G construction protecting it from drops and spills and features an all-metal 360-degree hinge allowing it to transform in multiple form factors.
The 360-degree hinge connects the base of the convertible to an 11.6-inch touchscreen featuring a resolution of 1366 x 768. The Chromebook Flip C213 was originally announced with two display options – one protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and featuring stylus support, and the other variant employing an anti-glare finish which should technically facilitate usage while in direct sunlight. However, Amazon’s product description for the model currently on sale makes no mention of Corning Gorilla Glass or stylus support, meaning that this is likely the variant featuring an anti-glare display. Either way, the Chromebook Flip C213 is described by the manufacturer as the “ultimate rugged Chromebook” for K-12 students. It was designed to pass military-grade durability tests and features a reinforced rubber bumper protecting the chassis, a spill-proof keyboard, as well as metal hinges treated with zinc alloy. Under the hood, the convertible conceals a dual-core Intel Celeron processor with a frequency of 1.1GHz, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of integrated flash memory.
