A render depicting what’s said to be the Ivvi V3 surfaced online on Thursday, showing the supposed bottom half of the upcoming smartphone. The source of the image claims that the Ivvi V3 will boast a 3D display panel powered by glassless technology, with the render itself suggesting that the device will sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner embedded into its physical Home button on the bottom bezel. The latter characteristic marks a departure from the design philosophy adopted for the recently released Ivvi K5 that shipped with a fingerprint reader integrated into its back panel.
The previously launched Ivvi-branded handset was expected to ship with the Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC), Qualcomm’s latest premium piece of silicon built on the 10nm process and equipped with eight cores clocked at up to 2.25GHz and the Adreno 540 GPU. However, as the device was eventually launched with a MediaTek-made chip, some industry sources are speculating that the Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) ultimately decided to wait for the Ivvi V3 to adopt Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset to date. The alleged Ivvi V3 depicted in the newly uncovered render that can be seen above seemingly sports a black glossy finish, which may be one of its available color variants once the handset is released later this year. While the latest leak isn’t particularly revealing, it does suggest that the smartphone will feature slightly rounded corners and boast a relatively smooth look, which is in line with contemporary design practices adopted by virtually all major phone makers.
Previous rumors indicated that the Ivvi V3 will be equipped with a dual camera setup consisting of two horizontally arranged lenses located on its rear panel that apparently won’t be made of glass, indicating that the device won’t support any wireless charging standards. The phone will likely ship with at least 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal flash memory that will presumably be expandable by up to 128GB or 256GB via a microSD card slot. Despite high-end specs, the Ivvi V3 is expected to be priced in a competitive manner and should be officially launched by summer, so more details on the handset will likely follow shortly.
