The HTC U11 is due to launch tomorrow in a number of countries. And now we’re learning that the higher-end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be coming to a few more markets than originally thought. Meanwhile, everyone else will be getting the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model. “China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Hong Kong, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines” will be getting the 6GB/128GB model, that’s if a report from HTC tipster LlabTooFeR is correct.
All other countries will be getting the small storage option, which also means a cheaper price tag. LlabTooFeR also notes that some other Middle Eastern and Asian countries may be getting this higher-end model as well. Additionally, this 6GB/128GB model will only be shipping in a dual SIM configuration. This makes sense, since the majority of users on that side of the world prefer, and use dual SIM smartphones over a single SIM smartphone. Allowing them to use two networks simultaneously. There’s no difference between these two models, other than the storage and RAM. Obviously users would love to get the 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage model, as it’s a bit more future-proof, not to mention it has plenty of storage for most users. Since the HTC U11 is not compatible with Daydream, this won’t make much of a difference for VR anyways, since HTC would rather you pick up the Vive.
The HTC U11 is the company’s eleventh high-end flagship, and it’s the latest in their U lineup. The HTC U11 comes with the usual high-end specs, including a 5.5-inch Quad HD 2560×1440 resolution Super LCD5 display. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship process the Snapdragon 835 along with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. There is a micro SD card slot available, however on the dual SIM models, it uses the second SIM card slot. Additionally, it’s all powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery and Android Nougat. HTC has added Edge Sense on the U11, which allows you to squeeze the bottom portion of the phone and do different things.
