A mysterious device bearing the model number HW P6859 has been listed in the database of popular mobile benchmarking tool AnTuTu earlier this month, boasting a number of premium specs that indicate this is a flagship smartphone or tablet. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 835, Qualcomm’s first system-on-chip (SoC) built on the 10nm process that boasts the Adreno 540 GPU and eight Kyro cores. It’s also powered by 6GB of RAM and sports 64GB of internal storage, in addition to featuring a dual camera setup consisting of two 16-megapixel sensors. The AnTuTu listing reveals that the unknown device was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat at the time of its testing, though it’s currently unclear to what degree was this particular build of Google’s operating system modified. Finally, the newly uncovered benchmarking test also indicates that the handset or a tablet in question boasts a Full HD (1920 x 1080) display panel whose size isn’t known, though it’s pixel count points at a conventional 16:9 aspect ratio.
The listing that can be seen below doesn’t reveal any more details about the device, though its specs and the timing of this leak indicate that the model in question may be the OnePlus 5, the upcoming Android-powered flagship that’s set to be released in the coming weeks. Several officials of the Shenzhen, Guangdong-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) have already confirmed that the OnePlus 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 and sport a Full HD display panel, while the rest of the specs listed by AnTuTu corroborate previous reports about the handset.
While the model number itself follows a pattern that hasn’t been utilized by OnePlus so far, this is also the only information revealed by the listing that doesn’t necessarily suggest the device in question is the OnePlus 5. Previous reports indicated that the upcoming flagship will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat enhanced with the company’s OxygenOS and boast a dual camera setup comprised of two horizontally arranged 16-megapixel sensors and a dual LED, dual tone flash, in addition to shipping with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash memory, and all of those specs have now been reiterated by the latest AnTuTu listing. The OnePlus 5 is also expected to be offered in a variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and while it remains to be seen whether the latest benchmark listing describes its base model, more details on the matter are bound to follow shortly.
