Nokia Unveils Sweatproof Wireless & Wired Earphones

HMD Global has just announced two new Nokia-branded accessories, the Nokia Active Wireless Earphones and the Nokia Active Wired Earphones. Their name actually says a lot, the first earphones are wireless and connect to your devices via Bluetooth, while the second pair you can plug in using a 3.5mm headphone jack on your phone, tablet, stereo, etc. Both of these products are meant to be used outdoors, though, you can use them wherever you want, but their name suggests they’re for sports, and even HMD Global says they’re made for ‘the athletic lifestyle’.

Now, it’s worth noting that both of these products come in a Black color variant only, and even though they look somewhat similar in terms of the design language, they’re not exactly identical. The Nokia Active Wireless Earphones come with an ergonomic design, says HMD Global, while they also feature magnetic clips, diamond-cut aluminum casing and are ultra-lightweight. The Nokia Active Wired Earphones have a highly reflective cable, while they’re also lightweight and sweat-proof. Metal is included in the built of these earphones, which is a nice touch by HMD Global. HMD Global also says that both of these devices offer quality sound output with solid bass tones, and have a remote control on them for music control. With both of these devices, you’ll get removable earplugs in three different sizes, so that you can choose which one fits you best, and the wireless pair of earphones you’ll charge via a USB cable (USB A to Micro USB). In the case of the wireless pair of earphones, you’re getting Bluetooth 4.1, using which you’ll connect these earphones to your device(s).

Now, the company did not release any availability info for these two pairs of earphones, nor did it share their pricing info. The Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones, however, are on their way to a number of markets around the world, so it’s quite possible that these earphones will become available in the near future as well. You can expect them to be quite affordable, though that’s only an educated guess, we really don’t have any sort of a pricing structure in mind at the moment.
