Huawei’s latest flagship smartphones, the Huawei P10 and the Huawei P10 Plus, can now be pre-ordered from the Canadian wireless carrier Rogers. The announcement was made in a tweet by Rogers’ customer care and technical support group. In addition to the announcement of pre-orders, additional details on the payment options for the two devices were also provided. Rogers announced that the Huawei P10 will be available for an off contract price of $649 CAD. For those who plan to purchase the phone on a plan, the carrier sells the device with upfront payments ranging from $499 CAD on a two-year Talk and Text Plan to zero upfront payment if the subscriber is enrolled in a two-year Premium+ Tab plan. The Huawei P10 will be available in black and prestige gold, with the latter being a Rogers exclusive in Canada.
For the Huawei P10 Plus, the upfront payments for the device ranges from $599 CAD when availed with the two year Talk and Text plan to as low as $0 CAD if the subscriber applies for the Premium+ Tab plan. Just in case the owner decides to purchase the phone off contract, the device is available for $749 CAD. Aside from Rogers, other carriers like Videotron and Bell will also sell the Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus on a later date. It has been previously announced that the two handsets will be available on Rogers’ network starting on June 6. The promise of Canadian carriers to offer Huawei flagships is a win for the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, which has been trying to gain market share in numerous markets around the world for the past few years.
The Huawei P10 and the Huawei P10 Plus share a lot of common internal specifications. Both devices are powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC, which is composed of two quad-core clusters comprised of four ARM Cortex A73 CPUs for performance and four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs for power efficiency. Both devices also sport the same dual-camera setup at the rear, which is comprised of a 20-megapixel RGB camera and a 12-megapixel monochrome camera. The biggest differences between the two devices are the display size, internal storage, and RAM. The Huawei P10 sports a 5.1-inch 1080p display while the Huawei P10 Plus has a 5.5-inch QHD display. For the internal storage and RAM, the Huawei P10 has 32GB of internal flash storage and 4GB of RAM while the Huawei P10 Plus has considerably more internal storage and RAM options. Huawei offers the Huawei P10 Plus with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB of 128GB of internal storage.
