Smartisan’s Nuts Pro premium mid-range smartphone that was unveiled last month is to get two new color options, Chocolate and Light Gold. The new colors will be available soon to go alongside the Red Wine, Carbon Black, and special ‘Thin Red Line’ edition that were previously announced and are already available on the company’s website. When the handset was first introduced there were 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants for the Red Wine and Carbon Black options and a 128GB variant was reserved for the ‘Thin Red Line’ edition. However, the new Chocolate and Light Gold colors will skip the 32GB model and will be offered in 64GB and 128GB variants. The 64GB Smartisan Nuts Pro has a price of 1799 yuan (around $265) while the 128GB variant is priced at 2,299 yuan ($338). The 32GB variant in Red Wine and Carbon Black only is priced at 1,499 yuan ($220). At this stage, it’s not known if the devices will be launched in other markets outside China.
Smartisan may not be a name that many people are familiar with but the China-based company is producing some interesting devices. There include the Smartisan M1 and M1L that were announced last year running the Android-based Smartisan OS 3.0. The Smartisan Nuts Pro 32GB option is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC while the 64GB and 128GB variants pack a Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor. Further specifications include a 5.5-inch In-Cell IPS display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, 4GB of RAM, and a non-removable 3500 mAh battery with fast charging via Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Camera-wise there’s a 13-megapixel dual rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for the 64GB and 128GB versions while the 32GB option sticks to an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor. A further difference between the models is that only the 128GB variant is equipped with NFC. The Android device is skinned with Smartisan’s OS 3.6 and has an angular design with very slim bezels either side of the display. The volume controls are on the right side of the handset, which also features a fingerprint scanner and 4G LTE connectivity.
Smartisan produces a limited amount of smartphones but last month another upcoming Smartisan smartphone appeared for benchmarking at GFXBench. The device was listed with model numbers OD103 and OD105 running Smartisan’s OS based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and 4GB of RAM, and one model has 64GB of internal storage while the other has 128GB. Hopefully, there will be further news on this one before too much longer.
