The Google Pixelbook and Pixelbook Pen (C0B Stylus) are now up for pre-orders on Amazon, two days after the Mountain View, California-based tech giant officially unveiled its latest Chrome OS-powered computer and compatible accessory. Consumers were already able to place advanced orders on both products since Wednesday but only through Google Store, with the devices now also appearing on Amazon together with free shipping for Prime subscribers.
The pricing details of the Google Pixelbook and Pixelbook Pen on Amazon are identical to those offered by Google itself, with the Chromebook starting at $999. That sum will get you a variant with 128GB of NVMe storage and the seventh generation of Intel’s Core i5 processor, as well as 8GB of RAM. The same configuration with double the storage space will set you back $200 more, whereas the Pixelbook Pen costs $99. Both products are listed as being set for a release on October 31st, with Google itself previously confirming that date as the start of their commercial availability in the United States. Consumers who are late with their pre-orders may still not receive them by early November seeing how initial stock may not be able to keep up with the demand; the Google Store already has the Pixelbook listed as shipping in “four to five” weeks from today, implying that not even everyone who pre-orders the device will have it shipped to them on its official release date. The Pixelbook can also be ordered from Amazon alongside a two or three-year Accident Protection plan priced at $58.99 or $91.29.
The most powerful variant of the Pixelbook with 512GB of NVMe storage space, 16GB of RAM, and the Intel Core i7 processor presently isn’t listed on Amazon in any capacity, with Google’s own online store only referencing it in the context of a product that’s “coming soon.” That particular model is set to ship with a $1,649 price tag in the U.S. once it’s out, Google previously confirmed. The Pixelbook Pen is advertised as a major addition to the Chrome OS experience but is still sold separately and no discounted bundles are presently being offered online. Apart from the new Chromebook, Google is also set to release its recently unveiled Pixel 2 Android smartphone series in the coming weeks, as well as a number of other devices like the Google Home Mini and Google Home Max smart speakers.
