Nubia will probably announce the Nubia Z17s on October 12, and that handset has just been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). First and foremost, it’s worth noting that this will be Nubia’s all-new flagship it seems, and if rumors are to be believed, it will sport a ‘bezel-less’ display. Having said that, this handset was certified by TENAA under the Nubia NX595J model number, and it comes with really powerful specifications. TENAA listing revealed both the phone’s specs, and its design, though unfortunately the display is turned off so we really can’t see how thin those bezels will be.
As you can see in the provided images, this phone is made out of metal and glass, while all of its physical keys are located on the right. The device comes with a quad camera setup (no specific info was given regarding these cameras, though), which means it sports two cameras on its front side, and two on the back. A fingerprint scanner is also placed on the back of this phone, and so is Nubia’s branding, while you’ll also notice a dual-LED flash next to the phone’s main camera shooters. The back side of this phone is slightly curved on the sides, and a SIM card tray is placed on the left side of the Nubia Z17s’ body. Having said that, TENAA reports that this phone will sport a 5.73-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, as both of those models will be available. The Nubia Z17s will pack in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB of storage, you’ll be able to choose between these three storage models, says TENAA.
Now, as far as the phone’s processor is concerned, rumors are saying that it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, but TENAA paints a somewhat different picture. This phone will be fueled by a 64-bit octa-core SoC, but TENAA says that the SoC is clocked at 1.8GHz, and that seems to be too low for the Snapdragon 835. Is it possible that the company is planning to include a mid-range processor in this otherwise high-end phone? Well, it is possible, it wouldn’t be the first or the last time we’re seeing something like that. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the Nubia Z17s, and on top of it you’ll get the company’s custom UI. A 3,000mAh non-removable battery will also be a part of this package, while the phone will be available in Black and Blue color variants, says the source. The Nubia Z17s will measure 147.5 x 72.7 x 8.6mm, while it will weigh 170 grams. The height and width of the device definitely suggest it will have really thin bezels, and possibly even a fullHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, despite the fact TENAA reports it will sport a regular fullHD panel.
