Rumor: HTC U11 Plus To Be Available In Three Color Variants

The HTC U11 Plus will be available in three color variants, namely black, silver, and translucent, according to a tweet by Evan Blass. Aside from these color variants, Blass did not provide additional details about the device. A recent listing on the website of the Chinese telecommunications regulator, TENAA, contains images of the black variant of the HTC U11 Plus, and it is likely that the other models of the smartphone will share the same design. However, the presence of the translucent color option somewhat confirms earlier leaks that indicate that the handset will be made out of glass.

Earlier reports state that the HTC U11 Plus will have a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 and an aspect ratio of 18:9. In comparison, the HTC U11 has a 5.5-inch Super LCD5 display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1440. The handset’s images show that the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back due to the lack of space below the display. According to an earlier tweet by Evan Blass, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC from Qualcomm, which is comprised of an octa-core Kryo 280 64-bit CPU clocked at up to 2.45GHz and the Adreno 540 GPU. There are also reports that state there will be at least two hardware variants of the device and these models will differ in terms of RAM and internal flash storage capacity. One variant is rumored to contain 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage while the other model will contain 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Reports state that the rear camera of the device is equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor and it has an aperture size of f/1.7 and a dual LED flash. The front-facing snapper, on the other hand, comes with an 8-megapixel sensor. Leaks also claim that the HTC U11 Plus will have IP68 water and dust resistance certification, which means that the handset can survive being submerged underwater for a short period of time. Contained within the handset is a sizeable 3,930mAh battery and the smartphone is also rumored to support Quick Charge 3.0 for fast top-ups. More details about the availability, pricing, and variants of the HTC U11 Plus will likely be made available in the near future.
