Samsung’s second-generation Gear IconX are now available for purchase, after a fairly short pre-order period. The Gear IconX (2018) are going to cost you $199, which is about the general price of truly wireless earbuds these days. However, the Samsung Gear IconX (2018) do have a few features that other truly wireless earbuds don’t have, which includes Bixby. With the Gear IconX (2018), users will have Bixby in their ear. And while Bixby is still fairly new, it is getting better everyday.
The Gear IconX (2018) will offer up about 7 hours of continuous playback, and that’s quite a bit higher than its competitors right now. Most other truly wireless earbuds are offering around 4 hours of playback and then up to 12 with the included charging case for the earbuds. Samsung has also included 4GB of internal storage on the Gear IconX (2018). The storage is for storing music offline, this way you can go for a nice long run and leave your phone at home, but still have music to keep you going through that workout. It’s a great feature to have, and more headphones are adding this feature as well, so that you aren’t stuck with having your smartphone with you all the time. Now, you can still stream music from your smartphone using Spotify, Google Play Music and the others, but that will decrease the battery life to about 5 hours of continuous playback.
Samsung’s Gear IconX (2018) are a great pair of earbuds to take to the gym with you, for a couple of reasons. One because they are nice and small and will stay in your ears without falling out during a nice long run. But these are also sweat and water proof.
