Both the HTC U11 Plus and HTC U11 Life have just surfaced in a new video (you’ll have to follow the ‘via’ link in order to check it out, though), and we actually get a really good look at both devices considering this is a rather crisp hands-on video we’re looking at. Having said that, the HTC U11 Plus is HTC’s upcoming flagship, which is expected to arrive soon, though it probably will not be announced on November 2 during the company’s event. HTC has been teasing November 2 as a date for the release of a new HTC-branded smartphone, though the company was quite mysterious about the whole thing. Despite the fact HTC did not share any info thus far, it seems like the company plans to announce the HTC U11 Life during this event, a device which is expected to be part of Google’s Android One project, read on.
If you take a look at the video down below, you’ll be able to see both devices in action. Let’s kick things off with the HTC U11 Plus, shall we. This phone seems to be rather large, as rumors have been indicating, while it sports rather thin bezels, but not to the extent of the Galaxy S8 or the LG V30. This handset comes with a single camera on the back, while a fingerprint scanner is placed below it. The phone is made out of metal and glass, and it using on-screen navigation buttons. The HTC U11 Life, on the other hand, will also be made out of metal and glass, while it will ship with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The HTC U11 Life will, much like its larger sibling, ship with a single camera on the back. The HTC U11 Life will not offer on-screen buttons, like the HTC U11 Plus, but will, instead, ship with capacitive keys below its display. The display will not sport rounded corners on either of these two phones, just in case you were wondering.
The HTC U11 Plus is expected to be HTC’s all-new flagship, a larger variant of the HTC U11, in a way. The device will, allegedly, sport a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) display, while it will also ship with a 3,930mAh non-removable battery. The phone is expected to ship in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, which will sport 64GB and 128GB of native storage, respectively. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 12-megapixel snapper (f/1.7 aperture) is expected to be included on the back of this phone. Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on the HTC U11 Plus, while HTC’s custom skin will be applied on top of it. The HTC U11 Life will ship with a considerably more modest set of specs, as the phone is expected to ship with the Snapdragon 630, 3GB of RAM and a 2,600mAh non-removable battery.
