ASUS Updates The Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) To ZenUI 4.0

ASUS is currently distributing an update to the ASUS Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL). This software upgrade will install the ZenUI 4.0, an improved version of the proprietary skin developed by the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer. ZenUI 4.0 includes a  new user interface design that follows the minimalist trend with its cleaner appearance. ZenUI 4.0 takes advantage of artificial intelligence and image recognition in order to organize images captured by the handset’s camera. Since the sorting of images is done directly on the smartphone, the user saves bandwidth since there is no need for images to be uploaded first to a cloud-based service before it is organized. The Safeguard functionality, on the other hand, makes it easy for people to call the emergency services and share their current location with their loved ones through the new Report Location feature. For those who regularly play mobile games, the Game Genie increases the speed of the smartphone’s processor, and it allows the user to set macros or create scripts, in order to easily trigger in-game actions that are frequently repeated.

The software package is already rolling out automatically, although it may take several days before all devices receive the update. Users also have the option to start the installation process manually by going to the device settings and proceeding to the “Software updates” option. Before installing the software upgrade, it is important to backup the files and images stored in the handset to a personal computer or an external microSD card. The user should also verify if there is sufficient free space in the internal flash storage in order to temporarily keep the installation file. Once the software upgrade is installed, the new software build can be identified using the software version number V14.0200.1712.347.

The ASUS Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL) is powered by the Snapdragon 430 chipset, which is comprised of an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 CPU and the Adreno 505 GPU. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, and it also contains 32GB of internal flash storage that can be expanded by a microSD card. The rear camera of the device is equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor while the front-facing shooter has an 8-megapixel snapper. The handset originally launched with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed although it was upgraded to Android Nougat earlier this year.
