LG Signature Edition Announced With 6GB of RAM, OLED Display

LG has just announced a new premium smartphone in its homeland, the LG Signature Edition. It is safe to say that this is LG’s most premium offering to date, the company will make only 300 units, and it will become available for purchase later this month, though LG did not share its price point nor exact release date just yet, What the company did share is the phone’s design and its spec sheet, so let’s take a look at all that, shall we.

The LG Signature Edition is a sleek-looking smartphone, which comes with really thin bezels, and it is made out of premium materials, it sports a zirconium ceramic back cover, which should repel scratches like a champ. On top of that, you also get the chance to engrave your name on the back of this phone, presuming you live in South Korea and get a chance to purchase one, of course. The phone sports a frame made out of metal, we’re presuming this is aluminum, though we cannot say for sure. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this phone, along with a dual camera setup, an LED flash, and the laser autofocus sensor. The phone utilizes on-screen buttons, its power / lock key is placed on the right, while you will notice the volume up and volume down buttons on the left. This smartphone is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while it sports a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440, 538 PPI) OLED panel, which means we’re looking at an 18:9 display here. That display is covered by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection, in case you were wondering.

The LG Signature Edition comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB of UFS 2.1 expandable internal storage, and it packs in a 3,300mAh non-removable battery. Speaking of its battery, you’re also getting Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging here, and the phone also supports wireless charging. Bluetooth 5.0 is also included in this package, and the same can be said for a 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC that we’ve seen in the LG V30. The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while Android 8.0 Oreo comes out of the box here, along with LG’s custom UI, the LG UX 6.0+. 16 and 13-megapixel shooters are placed on the back of this phone, a 16-megapixel sensor comes with an f/1.6 aperture, and this is a 71-degree wide-angle lens we’re looking at here, while OIS is also included. A 13-megapixel shooter features an f/1.9 aperture, and this is a 120-degree wide-angle lens. A 5-megapixel (90-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture) snapper is placed on the front of this phone, while the device measures 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.3mm, and weighs 158 grams. The phone comes in black and white color variants, in case you were wondering.
