LG Electronics started selling the LG V30 in select European markets last week, more than three months after officially launching its latest Android flagship. As per the company’s official communication on the matter, the handset is now available for purchase in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Poland. British Vodafone and Three and Italian wireless carriers Vodafone and TIM are presently the only mobile service providers on the Old Continent that are retailing the LG V30, though more telecom companies in all of the aforementioned countries will start offering the device later this month. Spanish consumers will also be able to purchase the LG V30 by the end of the year, the firm said, without elaborating on the matter.
The South Korean original equipment manufacturer described the LG V30’s European launch as its latest attempt to strengthen the LG Mobile brand in the region but didn’t reflect on the fact that the handset was nearly three months late to hit select European markets compared to its international release. The delay may be explained by the fact that LG has been negotiating new contracts with its wireless carrier partners seeing how none of the firm‘s V-series flagships were ever sold by European telecoms until the V30. According to recent reports from various Dutch media outlets, the LG V30 will also be released in the Netherlands in mid-December. LG’s carrier partners are yet to update their online stock to reflect the inclusion of the V30 to their device offerings but the handsets should already be available for purchase at their brick-and-mortar locations.
The LG V30 marks a radical redesign of its direct predecessor and is more akin to the LG G6 than the 2016 V20, boasting a largely bezel-free display with a tall aspect ratio of 18:9. Besides high-end specs like the Qualcomm-made Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of RAM, LG also equipped its new flagship with IP68-certified resistance to dust particles and water submersion, in addition to providing the phone with a quad-DAC setup and wireless charging capabilities. Only the regular variant of the V30 with 64GB of internal flash memory currently appears to be available in Europe, whereas the LG V30 Plus is unlikely to ever officially launch on the continent.
