The Meizu M6s recently reemerged through unofficial channels in the form of a leaked hands-on video briefly detailing the exterior design. Once again the device presents itself with a full-screen form factor and an elongated aspect ratio, as well as a metal unibody with a golden finish. The device is currently expected to launch in January contrary to previous reports suggesting it will be unveiled by the end of this year, and judging by previous rumors at least, spec-wise the smartphone should fit in the budget-friendly market segment.
The Meizu M6s has been subjected to several leaks for the past few weeks, and the smartphone’s design was constant in all instances. By all accounts, the Meizu M6s should feature a fullscreen design employing a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and rounded corners. The smartphone also appears to ditch the mBack physical button from the front panel and instead it seems to feature an indentation for a fingerprint scanner located on the right edge. As seen previously, the handset features a white front-facing panel and a golden metallic body, however earlier in November the device was also spotted in a couple of leaked images wearing an all-black finish. As for hardware specifications, this latest hands-on video didn’t reveal anything new but according to previous reports the device should feature a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 720, and adopt a 14nm Exynos 7872 chipset, though the aforementioned silicon has yet to be officially announced by Samsung. Either way, the processor is rumored to be paired with 3GB of RAM. Lastly, the back panel should accommodate a 13-megapixel main camera whereas a 5-megapixel sensor should reside on the opposite side.
Previous reports have proposed that the Meizu M6s should be unveiled before the end of 2017, however, according to recent bits of information, the Chinese OEM may have pushed back the smartphone’s debut to January next year on account of newfound issues with the camera. Either way, the device will be launched in China initially, presumably at a relatively affordable price, but it remains to be seen whether it will make its way into additional markets across the ocean.
