Images of an alleged third-party protective silicon case for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) emerged online recently, showcasing some of the smartphone’s design characteristics and features. According to the leaked renders, the device will retain a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top and will feature a 16:9 display with relatively thick top and bottom bezels. On the most part, the device seen in these images closely resembles the rendered 5-inch Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) leaked at the beginning of December, and the silicon case’s cutouts for the back panel seem to further confirm the placement of the loudspeaker and camera setup.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) has been leaked extensively over the past several weeks, and not only was the smartphone seen through unofficial channels but it also seemingly paid a visit to various regulatory agencies including Bluetooth SIG and the FCC, while bearing the model number SM-J250F. A couple of weeks ago the smartphone was also accidentally confirmed by Samsung’s South African division through a support page that launched prematurely, and with this being said the device is giving strong signs of an imminent official unveiling, which means that third-party case manufacturers should already have a pretty accurate idea on the smartphone’s exterior design details and overall dimensions in preparation of its market debut. Judging by these leaked renders alone, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) will have a physical power button on the right edge opposite the volume rocker but lacks a dedicated Bixby button. The physical home key faces the user but it’s unclear whether it will be embedded with a fingerprint recognition sensor, and lastly, the back panel has a fairly large cutout for the main camera and flash, as well as a thinner, secondary cutout which will presumably make room for a rear-facing speaker.
While the Samsung Galaxy J series usually targets emerging markets, recent reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) will see a much wider release on a global scale, though certain markets such as Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam are expected to take precedence over other regions. The device is likely to debut early next year and should be released for around $190 or the regional equivalent, assuming it will fall in line with the previous model’s launch price.
