Video: New Galaxy Note 9 Concept Phone Sports A Tiny Notch

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is one of the most popular smartphones of this year, and its successor will not be announced until Q3 or Q4 next year, that did not stop designers over at ‘Science and Knowledge’ YouTube channel to create a concept design of the device, though. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 concept has been published on that YouTube channel, and before we begin, it’s worth noting that this is not a leak of the device or anything of the sort, this is just a design by a third-party source which was created for fun, more than anything else. Having said that, read on.

As you can see, this concept smartphone is made out of metal and glass, just like every other Samsung-branded flagship in 2017. The device sports a dual camera setup on the back, and a fingerprint scanner right next to those two cameras, though both the cameras and that fingerprint scanner seem to be quite small, disproportional with the device’s body. Chances are that the real Galaxy Note 9 will sport an in-display fingerprint scanner, and that its dual camera setup on the back will look considerably different, but we’ll see. The back side of this imaginary smartphone is curved, and the company’s logo is imprinted on there as well. The device sports a really thin notch at the top of the front side, and that is the only thing that breaks the bezel-less design of the phone’s front side. The power / lock key is placed on the right side of this handset, while you will find volume up, volume down and Bixby keys on the left. The corners of the phone’s display are rounded, and it seems like we’re looking at a curved display here as well.

The designer(s) also envisioned some specs for this handset, so the phone’s frame is made out of aluminum, while the phone comes with two sheets of Gorilla Glass 6. This imaginary phone is IP68 certified, and a stylus is a part of the picture as well. A 6.4-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) Infinite X Notch display is a part of the picture as well, and that name is completely made up, as the Galaxy Note 9 almost certainly will not sport a notch at the top of its display. The phone sports 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB / 256GB of expandable storage. Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed here, and the device is fueled by the Snapdragon 845 / Exynos 9810, depending on the model. A 16-megapixel dual camera setup (f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, OIS, 3x optical zoom) sits on the back of this concept handset, while a 13-megapixel camera (f/1.7 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side. A 3,850mAh non-removable battery is also envisioned for this concept handset, and so is Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
