A YouTube channel called ‘Science and Knowledge’ has just released a new smartphone concept design, this time around, we can check out the OnePlus 6 Edge concept. Needless to say, this is an imaginary smartphone, hence the ‘concept’ naming. This smartphone will never become a reality, but it sure looks sleek, while it resembles the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T quite a bit, at least if the back side of the device is concerned, read on.
If you’d like to check out the concept video that was released, scroll down, the video has been embedded below the article. Having said that, if you take a look at the design of its back, you will notice that the back is curved, and that the company’s logo is placed right in the middle of it. A dual camera setup is still in the same place as it was on the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, though it sports a different design here. The phone’s power / lock key is included on its right-hand side, while the volume up and down button, as well as an alert slider, lie on the left-hand side of the device. The two main cameras on this phone protrude a bit, while an LED flash is placed right next to them. Now, you will start noticing significant design differences if you flip the phone over, as the bezels on this thing are razor thin, while the phone’s display is curved on the sides, hence the ‘Edge’ naming. This imaginary smartphone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, and the source also attached some specs to it.
The OnePlus 6 Edge concept phone features a 6-inch Optic AMOLED fullHD+ display, though it comes with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, just like some Samsung phones. On top of that display, the designer envisioned Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6, and OxygenOS 5.0 comes pre-installed on the phone, on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC fuels this phone, while the device sports 6GB / 8GB of RAM (two variants), and 64GB / 128GB / 256GB of storage. 19 and 16-megapixel cameras are envisioned as the phone’s main snappers, and they sport an f/1.6 aperture, OIS, and PDAF. A 16-megapixel shooter is included on the front (f/1.6 aperture), while a 3.5mm headphone jack is also a part of the package. A 4,150mAh non-removable battery is also a part of the OnePlus 6 Edge, and so is Dash Charge.
