YouTube TV Becomes Available In 34 New Markets

YouTube has expanded its TV streaming service, YouTube TV, to 34 new locations across the United States, complete with a slew of key features such as support for a number of apps on mobile and Android TV, native free DVR, and a few selection of channels. With the recent market expansion, the YouTube TV service is now available in a wider array of metro areas across the country, including Albany, Baton Rouge, Chattanooga, Colorado Springs, Green Bay, Madison, New Orleans, Providence, Rochester and Savannah, among others (click the source link below for a complete list of locations where YouTube TV is available).

If you are not certain whether YouTube TV is available in your specific location, you can check for the service’s availability by trying to sign up for the TV streaming solution and entering your ZIP code, after which the service will tell you whether your registration is successful. If YouTube TV is, unfortunately, not available in your home location, YouTube says it will notify you in the future once the service comes to your area. The TV streaming solution requires premium subscription so that you can gain live TV access to some of the big broadcast networks, cable channels, premium networks, popular content creators on YouTube and YouTube Red Originals. The service is available on various platforms such as Android phones and computers for a monthly price of $35. Additionally, YouTube TV costs $39.99 per month if you sign up through iTunes. In a recent expansion to Google’s live TV service, the YouTube TV app launched on the Android TV platform, extending the service’s availability from mobile devices to smart TVs and letting you cast content from the mobile app to the big screen running the Android TV OS. Also, it was added to the 2016 and 2017 LG and Samsung Smart TV models last month.

On top of YouTube TV’s features mentioned above, the service also serves up the picture-in-picture mode for those who have upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. While it is a paid membership service, you can also try out YouTube TV for free, though it still slashes a small amount from your credit card once you sign up for the free trial option as a form authorization fee. Nonetheless, the amount will be paid back to you once your card is confirmed.
