BLUBOO D5 To Be A Budget Alternative To The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2

BLUBOO has just announced that it is planning to release a new smartphone, the BLUBOO D5. The company says that the BLUBOO D5 will be a direct competitor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 (in terms of the design, as the BLUBOO D5 will be a budget phone), and the company has even released an image of this smartphone. Based on the provided render, the device will sport really thin bezels, and a ‘chin’ below the display. A single camera will be placed on the back of the device, while a fingerprint scanner will sit below it. A dual-LED, dual-tone flash will be included on the back of this device as well, while a front-facing camera will sit below the phone’s display.

In addition to that, BLUBOO claims that the BLUBOO D5 will be made out of metal, and that it will feel quite premium in the hand. The device will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD+ display provided by Sharp, and the device will arrive in three color variants, black, blue and red, all of which you can check out in the provided image. The company also mentioned that this phone is targeted mostly at ‘young people’, probably because of these color choices, though it seems like pretty much anyone would be suitable to use the BLUBOO D5, those colors are not too flashy or anything of the sort. The device will support USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack will also be a part of the package, it will be located at the very top of the device. The company also mentioned that the BLUBOO D5 will cost less than $100, and BLUBOO also said that this will be the first ‘tri-bezel’ phone to cost less than $100. The BLUBOO D5 will be announced in February, that is also something BLUBOO confirmed.

That is more or less all the info that the company released thus far, the device does look quite compelling in the provided render, though we’ll have to wait until a real image surfaces in order to make sure its bezels are so thin, hopefully there won’t be any black bars around the display, or anything of the sort.
