The Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) has just arrived to India, as the company promised. The Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) was initially announced last month, along with its sibling, the Galaxy A8 (2018), and the Galaxy A8 (2018) went on sale in the Netherlands yesterday. The Netherlands is the first European country in which this phone is available in, and the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) is also expected to become available in Europe in the near future. Along with the announcement of the device itself, it was also announced that the phone will start selling on January 20, and that it will be available through Amazon India, exclusively. The Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) is priced at Rs. 32,990 in the country, and it comes in Black and Gold color variants. Having said that, the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) is a mid-range phone, and it is made out of metal and glass. It is more expensive than any other Galaxy A-branded smartphone from last year, though it comes with an Infinity display this time around, its bezels are quite thin, and the display sports rounded corners. All in all, if you’re looking for a more affordable variant of the Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, well, the Galaxy A8 Plus fits the bill, even though it looks more like the Google Pixel 2 XL from the front. The phone’s volume rocker is placed on the left, as is the device’s SIM card try, while the power / lock key is available on the right-hand side of the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018).
The device features a 6-inch fullHD+ (2220 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Samsung’s 14nm Exynos 7885 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this smartphone, while a 3,500mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package, and it comes with fast charging. A 16-megapixel shooter (f/1.7 aperture) is placed on the back of the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018), while a different 16-megapixel camera (f/1.9 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side. A fingerprint scanner lies on the back of the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018), while the phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on this phone, along with Samsung’s custom UI, while the device sports two SIM card slots.
