Hands-On With The Rugged Matrix PowerWatch X Smartwatch – CES 2018

The Matrix PowerWatch X is a new smartwatch which got announced at CES 2018 in Las Vegas yesterday, and now we managed to get some hands-on time with the device. This is a sporty-looking smartwatch, and there’s a good reason for that, it’s powered by your body heat, which is quite interesting, to say the least. The original PowerWatch had the same feature, but the company took it a step further in this iteration, trying to improve upon the original unit.

Now, if you take a look at the provided images down below, you will be able to see this smartwatch for yourself. The watch looks rugged and sporty at the same time, it has a dial on the right, and it’s made mostly out of metal. This smartwatch is not exactly thin, and that’s also something that you’ll be able to notice as soon as you check out the provided images. This smartwatch actually comes with an always-on power meter, and the company claims that it is the ‘most accurate’ measurement for burnt calories on the market. This smartwatch is also water resistant up to 200 meters, which is a nice addition by the company, and it definitely says that this watch is made for active people. Interestingly enough, if you take this watch off your hand, it will go into sleep mode, and will be able to stay idle for up to two years.

The Matrix PowerWatch X is compatible with both Android and iOS, and it is available for pre-order as we speak, and it’s priced at $249. It seems like the device will become available later this year, though we’re still not sure when exactly. The device will be available in Black and Silver color variants, it seems, and it will even be available in two, slightly different designs, at least based on the images that the company released. That is more or less it, the PowerWatch X sure does differentiate from other smartwatches in the market, and if you’re an active person who is looking for a smartwatch that does not need to be plugged in in order to recharge, well, the Matrix PowerWatch X may be something that will interest you.
