OnePlus is expanding to include more repair centers, new answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ), and a brand new dedicated backup tool, thanks to feedback from users via the company’s Open Ears Forum. That’s according to a recently added response to the company’s official Open Ears Forum thread, which was posted December 30. The changes will be incorporated over the next several weeks, in advance of the next of the customer-driven feedback meetings, which is scheduled to take place in March. There is no word yet with regard to where that will take place – with the previous Open Ears Forum event having taken place in London but anybody interested in the event is advised to keep an eye out for more news over the coming weeks.
Starting things off, the company has revealed two new repair centers for the U.K. and Nordic region, with the first of those already operational as of last month while the second will be up and running by the middle of this month. Initially, those service centers, located in the U.K., will service customers in that country and in Finland. However, the OnePlus expects to be opening up the centers to customers in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway at some point in the future. Overall, the new repair centers have already reduced the average turnaround time for customers whose devices need repairs from 7 days to 5 days and those times should only improve once the second center opens up. Taking customer service just a step further, the company has also already updated its FAQ and policies pages in order to make answers read more clearly. In order to make the sites more navigable and to provide a better end-user experience, plans are also underway to update the sites’ layouts but it will take what is currently an undisclosed amount of time before customers can expect to see that go into effect.
Finally, OnePlus has revealed a new backup tool for owners of its devices, which should make switching devices much easier. Called OnePlus Switch, a Beta version of the app was made available following the announcement. Better still, despite the fact that it wasn’t expected to be ready until sometime near the middle of this month, OnePlus Switch is already available now on the Google Play Store via the button below. The application allows for contacts, messages, call logs, calendar, photos, videos, audio, and applications to be migrated to a OnePlus device without using any data.
