OUKITEL had teased the arrival of the OUKITEL U18 earlier this month, and the company has just confirmed that the device will become available starting next week. The OUKITEL U18 will become available for pre-order starting on January 29, and it will cost around $180, according to the company. Now, for those of you who do not know, the OUKITEL U18 is more or less an iPhone X clone, or at least we can say that its design has been inspired by the design of the iPhone X, read on.
The OUKITEL U18 sports a notch at the top of its display, just like the iPhone X, and the device’s bezels are quite thin all around, even though there’s a ‘chin’ included below its display. Thin black bars are present around the display, along with the frame itself. This smartphone utilizes on-screen buttons, and it is made out of metal. Two cameras are included on the back of the phone, and a fingerprint scanner lies below them. A dual-LED flash is also present on the back of this device, while the aforementioned cameras protrude on the back a bit. All of this info is based on the company’s official renders which have been released, and which you can check out in the gallery down below. Now, the OUKITEL U18 will actually be the very first smartphone to ship with a display which sports a 21:9 aspect ratio, which results in a 1512 x 720 resolution. This is a 5.85-inch display we’re looking at here, and the company actually likes to think that the OUKITEL U18 is a combination of the iPhone X (front) and Huawei Mate 10 Pro (back).
This smartphone is fueled by the MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit octa-core processor, while OUKITEL included 4GB of RAM on the inside as well. As far as storage is concerned, you’ll be getting 64GB of native storage here, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 64GB. A 4,000mAh non-removable battery comes as part of this package as well, while Android 7.0 Nougat is pre-installed on the OUKITEL U18. OUKITEL said that it will ‘consider’ updating this phone to Android 8.0 Oreo, while two SIM card slots are also available here.
