A new Xiaomi Mi Max 3 rumor has just surfaced, and it has seemingly revealed some of the phone’s specs. Back in December, a rumor surfaced claiming that the Mi Max 3 will arrive with a 7-inch display which will sport an 18:9 display aspect ratio. Well, this new rumor reiterated that, while it also shares some additional info. This information popped up on Weibo (Chinese social network), though it does not exactly come from a verified source or anything of the sort, so take it with a grain of salt.
According to the provided info, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will ship with a 6.99-inch 18:9 display, and even though its resolution hasn’t been mentioned, the phone is expected to sport a fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) panel. A 12-megapixel snapper is expected to be included on the back, at least according to this info, while a 5-megapixel camera will be placed on the front side of the device. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 635 64-bit octa-core SoC is said to fuel the phone, even though an earlier leak suggested we may see the Snapdragon 660 included instead. The Snapdragon 635 has not been announced just yet, but this SoC is expected to succeed the Snapdragon 635, we’re looking at a 14nm chip here which is rumored to be 20 percent more powerful than its predecessor. The device is rumored to arrive in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants, the former will include 64GB of internal storage, while the latter will ship with 128GB of native storage. A 5,500mAh non-removable battery is also mentioned in this new rumor, and the phone is said to support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, as well as reverse charging, which essentially means you will be able to use the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 as a power bank and charge other devices with it. MIUI 9-based Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, and the device is rumored to cost 1,699 Yuan ($264), well, its base model is.
We do not have all that much info when it comes to the phone’s design, but the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will probably resemble the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus devices, as the company will almost certainly trim its bezels, especially compared to the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 which sported quite chunky bezels. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was announced in May last year, so its successor could launch in mid-2018, if not sooner.
