Samsung has added the selfie focus feature to the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2017 models as part of a new update that was pushed out to the camera, but those aren’t the only new features that photo fans who use these two smartphones will notice once the camera app on their devices has been updated. As Samsung seems to be pushing the update to the camera app on the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2017 models as of recently it’s possible that not all users will have it yet, but if you’re running one of those two phones you can check the update availability by navigating to the settings menu, going to about phone, then software updates and tapping to see if there is anything manually to be downloaded and installed.
In addition to the selfie focus feature, which is admittedly the biggest feature of the new app software thanks to its capabilities to enhance the photos coming from the front-facing camera, the front-facing camera also now includes a feature that will attempt to correct the color of skin tones for people in the photo ensuring that each person’s skin tone looks as close to the way it looks in real life as possible. This isn’t an automatic feature and must be enabled, and to get to it users have to hit the beauty effects icon in the camera’s user interface before snapping the shot.
If you’re a fan of the new AR Stickers feature that has been advertised on Google’s Pixel camera for the company’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones, Samsung has added some AR Stickers and stamps of its own into the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 2017 rear-facing camera that can jazz up your images before sharing. Granted these aren’t the same as the stickers as in Google’s Pixel camera but they should give off a similar visual appeal and are likely to be a fun inclusion for anyone who likes to play around with such features in their pictures. If you’re not keen on waiting for these updates as mentioned above you can try to see if the software is available to download manually, though it may still require a bit of a wait for some users.
