The tech firm Lighthouse AI has recently launched a new security camera, dubbed as the Lighthouse AI Smart Security Home Camera, that uses artificial intelligence and 3D sensing in order to alert users of the movements and activities inside the home. The camera includes a 3D time-of-flight sensor which measures the distances between objects and the sensor by recording the amount of time needed for the light emitted by the device to return from the objects in its environment. A key advantage of using a 3D sensor is that it permits the camera to eliminate false alarms due to changes in the lighting condition. The sensor also enables the device to classify pets and humans who are inside the home, and it could inform the homeowner when it recognizes and distinguishes interesting activities and movements. Moreover, with the help of computer vision experts, the manufacturer developed a person identification model that allows the camera to recognize familiar or unfamiliar faces. Once the device identifies a security threat, users are given the choice to either communicate through the camera’s two-way audio or simply sound the siren included with the product.
With the help of AI models, the device may automatically provide answers to what happened inside the home. Users may choose to ask questions either through voice commands or typing. Just in case that the homeowner prefers to view video clips rather than rely on the device’s search features, the camera offers a daily recap feature that shows time-lapse videos that automatically skip periods of inactivity. Halovision, on the other hand, is another feature that makes it easier for people to follow the activities in the home by placing color-coded halos around pets and people. Homeowners may also monitor the home through a 1080p video stream that can support either portrait or landscape modes, and its night vision feature permits the camera to work even in dark environments. In order to ensure the privacy of users and their family, all data connections established by the camera are encrypted by default using the AES 256 encryption.
To fully utilize the features of the camera, the manufacturer offers an AI companion service for $10 a month or for a lifetime access fee of $200. However, the tech company is currently offering a 90-day free trial of its AI service plan to consumers who will buy the camera. The security camera, on the other hand, costs $299 on Amazon (link below).
