New Nokia 7 Plus Renders Surface, Dual Cameras Shown

A new set of Nokia 7 Plus renders has leaked to show the device from more angles than the previously leaked images. These images don’t add anything significant to the already available information about the phone. though. In the images, the alleged Nokia 7 Plus can be seen sporting an 18:9 display with rounded corners, making it the first Nokia-branded phone to boast the new display aspect ratio. With the reduced bezels, the phone will utilize on-screen Android navigation keys and its fingerprint scanner will also be moved to the back where its two primary cameras can also be seen. The use of gold accents is visible around the camera housing, fingerprint scanner, power and volume keys, and on Nokia branding in both the white and black color variants, similar to the Nokia 6 (2018).

Last week, Evan Blass leaked a couple of images of the handset suggesting it to launch under Google’s Android One program. There is a possibility that HMD Global may keep the Nokia 7 Plus Android One variant exclusive to a few markets and launch the regular one in others. While the company has promised to push regular software updates to all its Android smartphones, the Android One devices will have an edge on others with the phone possibly running Android 8.0 (Oreo) out of the box. Nokia is expected to launch a few of its Android devices during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next week. The Nokia 7 Plus’ previously leaked images also have the February 25 date mentioned probably hinting at the imminent launch. Besides this mid-range smartphone, HMD Global might also announce the Nokia 9 as well as the Nokia 1 with Android Oreo (Go Edition). Yesterday, Google confirmed via a blog post that new Android One and Android Oreo (Go Edition) devices will be announced at the trade show.

Going by the leaks and rumors, the Nokia 7 Plus will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor from last year coupled with 4GB of RAM. A 6GB RAM variant is also a possibility with an internal storage of 64GB. As already mentioned, the handset will reportedly have an 18:9 display measuring 6 inches with an FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Two cameras with resolution of 12 and 13-megapixels are expected on the back with Carl Zeiss lenses along with a 16-megapixel camera on the front. Features like Bothie and OZO Audio that debuted with previous Nokia phones can also be expected, while the phone is rumored to be priced at €399 ($491).
