New Vivo Smartphone Leaks With Extremely Thin Bezels

It seems like Vivo is planning to release a smartphone with an extremely high screen-to-body ratio, at least according to a new image that just surfaced on Weibo (Chinese social network). As you can see, this handset sports extremely thin bezels all around, its bottom bezel is the thickest, but it’s barely any thicker than the side or top bezels. This phone’s display comes with rounded corners, and the phone is clearly running Vivo’s Funtouch OS on top of Android, which suggests that this is one of Vivo’s upcoming devices, read on.

This could be the upcoming Vivo X30, despite the fact this design differs from the leaks we’ve seen recently. The Vivo X30 surfaced a couple of times thus far, sporting a notch at the top, though it is possible that those leaks are fake, of course. The Vivo X20 was announced back in September last year, and if the company plans to stick to its release cycle, we will not be seeing the Vivo X30 for another 7 months or so, but it is possible that the device will land sooner than expected. In any case, you will notice that a fingerprint scanner is not located on the front side of this smartphone, so it’s either housed on its back, or we’re looking at an in-display fingerprint scanner here, which is far more probable, as Vivo is the only company that released a phone with an in-display fingerprint scanner thus far. The Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with Synaptics’ Clear ID in-display fingerprint scanner, and it’s safe to assume that the company’s upcoming flagships will sport such a fingerprint scanner as well.

Another thing you’ll notice, when looking at this image, is that the phone does not seem to sport a front-facing camera. This handset will probably ship with a flip-up camera, or something of the sort, so it’s possible that it will come with one camera only, which will be utilized as both the phone’s main snapper, and a front-facing camera. An earpiece is also not visible in the provided image, but it’s possible that it’s tucked away at the top of the phone or something of the sort, well just have to wait and see, presuming this leak is legit, of course. As far as specs are concerned, no info surfaced just yet, so stay tuned.
