Nubia has just announced that it will be showcasing its Nubia Z17s smartphone at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC), along with the Nubia Z17miniS, and some additional products and tech in general it seems. The Nubia Z17s and Z17miniS had been announced back in October last year in China, and considering Nubia will be showing them off in Barcelona, it’s quite possible that we’ll see them released in more markets moving forward.
Nubia did mention that its ‘innovation lab’ is ready to unveil its ‘top secret’ project, a diamond-cut, light-infused, nano-carbon graphite design. That’s all that Nubia said about it, for now, but it seems like a new manufacturing technology of some sort. Along with the Nubia Z17s and Z17miniS, the company will also introduce some other devices which are fueled by the Snapdragon-branded chips, and which have rather large batteries, and plenty of RAM. Nubia also said that these devices will be aimed at mobile gamers, so we’re in for something rather interesting it seems, probably a competitor to the Razer Phone, as the company’s General Manager, Ni Fei, pretty much confirmed that such a device is coming in the near future. The company said that some new smartphone accessories and IoT products will be shown off the during the show as well.
Now, the only two products from this list that we have plenty of info about, are the Nubia Z17s and the Nubia Z17miniS. The Nubia Z17s is the company’s flagship smartphone, it is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while it comes with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, at least in China. The phone sports a 5.73-inch fullHD+ (2040 x 1080) display, and we’re looking at a 90.36 percent screen-to-body ratio here. The device is made out of metal and glass, while it sports 23 and 12-megapixel snappers on its back. The Nubia Z17miniS, on the other hand, is the company’s mid-range offering. The device is made out of metal and glass as well, but it is fueled by the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core SoC, while it comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The device features a 5.2-inch fullHD display, and a 3,200mAh non-removable battery.
