Sprint has rolled out a new cloud-based solution designed to allow information technology administrators to manage the mobile devices across their organization and ensure the security of those handsets using the Samsung Knox Manage. For the uninitiated, Samsung Knox Manage is an Enterprise Mobility Management system developed by the South Korean tech giant with the goal of helping businesses and organizations protect their corporate data from unauthorized access. It does that by enabling IT admins in an enterprise set up a virtual command hub with which to handle and control devices regardless of the operating system being used whether that’s Android, iOS or Windows 10.
Mishka Dehghan, Sprint vice president for product, said in particular that Samsung Knox Manage is targeted at the U.S. carrier’s small to medium-size enterprise customers given the solution’s low price, noting that the tool provides consumers with a host of protection and management features such as security, control, system performance, and manageability. It is, perhaps, worth noting that Samsung’s Galaxy line of devices already has the Knox security solution available for users, and the addition of the Samsung Knox Manage to the mix brings the level of security for those devices to a higher degree. More to the point, the Knox security platform already equips Samsung Galaxy devices for enterprise use with a defense-grade grade security solution once a user starts to use a particular Galaxy device. Samsung Knox also performs a regular scan on devices as part of a routine to prevent the security feature of those devices from being compromised and maintain their level of security.
Additionally, Sprint is also offering Samsung Knox Configure for IT admins in an effort to help them make setting adjustments to mobile devices before rolling them out to enterprise users. There are loads of options for configuring the Galaxy devices, with each tweak being flexible according to an organization’s unique business demands. In addition to existing Galaxy devices, it’s likely that the upcoming Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are also getting the Knox security branding based on images that seem to depict the next-generation Galaxy S series. Sprint also vowed to continue helping its enterprise customers speed up their mobile strategies with the use of Samsung Knox solutions.
