Video: This LG V40 Concept Resembles The LG V30 Quite A Bit

The LG V40 is not expected to arrive until H2 2018, but it’s never too early to see a nicely designed handset, even though it’s not real, which is why we’re not checking out the LG V40 concept. This concept handset comes from a YouTube channel called ‘Science and Knowledge’, and considering this is YouTube we’re talking about, it’s easy to deduct that it comes in a video format. Considering this is just a third-party concept design, chances are the real LG V40 will not resemble this phone that much, as it’s not based on leaks or anything of the sort, even though it resembles the LG V30 quite a bit, so keep that in mind.

Having said that, this handset is made out of metal and glass, just like its predecessor, the LG V30. LG’s logo is placed on its back, and the phone sports incredibly thin bezels, thinner than the LG V30, it’s almost fully bezel-less. The back side of this phone is curved, and the phone’s display sports rounded corners. A dual camera setup lies on the back of the device, the same can be said for a dual-LED flash, and some camera sensors which sit on the opposite side, quite probably a laser autofocus or something of the sort. An LED flash is located on the front of the device as well, next to the front-facing camera. The phone’s top bezel seems to be thicker than its bottom one, which will probably be the case with the Galaxy S9 as well. The designer envisioned Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 on both the phone’s front and back sides, same goes for IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

This imaginary smartphone sports a 6.1-inch QHD+ (2960 x 1440) P-OLED HDR10 and Dolby Vision-compliant display, while LG’s UX 6.0 skin is included on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this concept phone, while the device supports microSD expansion. This handset is equipped with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, which comes with 64GB and 128GB of native storage, respectively. Two 19-megapixel snappers are included on the back of the concept LG V40 handset, both of which sports an f/1.6 aperture, OIS, and PDAF, while a single 13-megapixel camera (f/1.7 aperture) lies on the front side of the device. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included in the package, and the same goes for Type-C USB 3.1, Quick Charge 4.0 and wireless charging. A 4,100mAh non-removable battery has also been mentioned by the designer, and the source showed off four different color variants of this concept phone, Blue, Red, Silver, and Black.
