Samsung’s Wireless Charger Stand for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus leaked online yet again earlier today, with some of its hands-on images being shared on Dutch tech blog Tweakers. The gadget’s retail packaging seen in the images below clearly mentions the model number EP-N5100, the same one that has already been leaked on several occasions in recent weeks.
The overall aesthetic of the device is similar to Samsung’s official wireless charger that launched alongside the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, with previous reports suggesting the product will be available in black and white variants. The gadget is equipped with a LED light meant to serve as a charging status indicator and has been manufactured in Samsung’s Vietnam factory on January 25, according to its label, with that date suggesting the South Korean tech giant was still in the process of ramping up its production operations in preparation for the Galaxy S9’s launch late last month. The company’s branding is only embedded into the back of the charger, surrounded by a circular fan vent, whereas the front of the device that’s meant to serve as a stand for the company’s upcoming Android flagships simply says “Fast Charge.” According to a previously leaked user manual detailing the EP-N5100, the device will allow for Qi wireless charging and should hence be compatible with handsets as old as the 2015 Galaxy S6 lineup. The last wireless charger launched by Samsung presently retails for $39.99 in the United States and its successor should be offered around the same price point.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus have been the subjects of multiple leaks, rumors, and reports in recent months, with various industry insiders already revealing nearly everything there is to know about the smartphones. The biggest improvements compared to the Galaxy S8 series should debut in the form of more powerful chips, dual stereo speakers, and a better camera supported by a lens boasting a variable aperture. The phablets are also expected to allow for animated emoji that insiders previously described as a combination of Snapchat’s Bitmoji and Apple’s Animoji, whereas the tagline of the February 25 launch event meant to introduce the Galaxy S9 lineup is “camera reimagined.”
