The Xiaomi Mi 7’s specs leaked a couple of days ago, along with a rather sketchy render of the phone, and now the device’s spec sheet popped up again, though this time we’re looking at an actual screenshot that was allegedly taken using the Mi 7. This screenshot reveals that the Mi 7 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, like most rumors and leaks suggested, while it will ship with 8GB of RAM, at least this variant will, as there’s a chance that Xiaomi may launch a 6GB RAM model of the Mi 7 as well.
The device in question is running Android 8.1 Oreo, while MIUI 9.2.5.0 is installed on top of it, which suggests that the Mi 7 may ship with Android 8.1 Oreo, which would be quite a surprise, as most users actually expected it to ship with Android 7.1 Nougat or Android 8.0 Oreo. This variant of the phone also packs in 128GB of internal storage, it seems, at least the leaked screenshots claims that to be the case. The phone’s display info hasn’t been mentioned here, but the Mi 7 is expected to ship with a fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) panel, even though there’s a chance Xiaomi may opt for a QHD+ display instead, we’ll just have to wait and see what will happen. The Mi 7 will almost certainly ship with a dual camera setup on the back, which is also something that hasn’t been mentioned in the leaked screenshot. The device will sport wireless charging, that much has been confirmed by the company, which means that its backside will be covered by either glass or ceramic.
The Xiaomi Mi 7 will not be announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, our source at the company confirmed that, instead, it will be introduced during a separate post-MWC event in March or April. It remains to be seen if the company plans to release the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus, as both have been rumored, or is the Mi 7 Plus only a rumor and nothing more than that. It is also worth noting that a leak from the other day claims that the Mi 7 will ship with a 5.6-inch display, which is possible, especially considering we’re looking at an 18:9 display here, which means that the device will still be quite compact, especially if its bezels end up being considerably thinner than bezels we’ve seen on the Mi 6.
