Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Leaks With Thin Bezels, Metal Body

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to launch in India on February 14, and the phone’s alleged render just surfaced. Some rumors suggested that the Redmi Note 5 will essentially be a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus which was announced in China at the end of last year, but if the leaked render is to be believed, that won’t be the case, as it looks a bit different than the Redmi 5 Plus, read on.

If you take a look at the provided image, you will notice a metal-clad smartphone, which sports a vertically-aligned dual camera setup, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while the Redmi 5 Plus comes with a single rear-facing snapper. The company’s logo is placed on the back of this phone, and all of the device’s physical keys lay on the right. This phone seems to sport somewhat thinner side bezels than the Redmi 5 Plus, at least if this render is any indication, while its display does not seem to sport rounded corners, which is a bit odd considering that both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus do. This handset is expected to sport 16 and 5-megapixel snappers on its back, while a single 8-megapixel camera will probably be included on its front side. The device will ship with a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, while it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 636 64-bit octa-core processor. Claims the source.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will probably include 4GB of RAM, while two different variants will be available, the more affordable model will include 32GB of native storage, while the more expensive model will arrive with 64GB of internal storage. A 4,100mAh non-removable battery will also be a part of the package, it seems, and so will fast charging, quite probably Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Android Nougat or Android Oreo will come pre-installed on the Redmi Note 5, while Xiaomi’s MIUI skin will be included on top of it. All in all, Xiaomi did not confirm that the Redmi Note 5 will arrive on February 14, but the company did tease devices from the Redmi 5 series, so either the company will introduce the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus, or the Redmi 5 and the Redmi Note 5 will drop, either way, we’re only two days away from finding out.
